Alex Howson   Originally from Ohio, Alex has spent most of her life in Scotland. Her grandfather was born in Seattle, her dad worked for Boeing in the 1950s, and family lore has it that her great-grandfather worked on the Snoqualmie Pass railroad. So it’s unsurprising that her heart tugged her toward Western Washington and to Snoqualmie in particular, where she has lived since 2007.    Alex has been practicing yoga for a decade and earned RYT-200 certification through Hot Yoga Experience. Her personal experience has been that a regular yoga practice offers many therapeutic benefits for physical and mental health. To this end, her goal is to create safe, balanced, and mindful practices that are enlivening for body and soul, and that are attentive to breath and functional alignment. She currently teaches power, hatha, and yin classes at Pineapple Life. Favorite pose: Ardha Chandrasana—a powerhouse of a pose that builds balance, stability, and core strength, and stimulates focus and willpower.    Alex initially trained and practiced as a trauma and orthopedics OR nurse in a regional trauma center in Scotland. She also has a PhD from the University of Edinburgh, where she conducted public health research and taught courses on gender, the body, and health. In addition to teaching yoga, she owns  Thistle Editorial, LLC  and develops education materials for healthcare professionals.    Alex loves the outdoors and is an active gal—swimming, running, hiking, kayaking. When she is not teaching yoga, she is hanging out with family and friends in the beautiful Snoqualmie valley, playing with her dogs, baking, jam-making, quilting, or knitting.

Anastasia Baker   Anastasia is passionate about sharing the gift of yoga with her students. Caroline Furness   Caroline loves all things health and fitness. She’s completed 3 full marathons and a some half marathons. Gimena believes that everybody, regardless of age, physical abilities and body type can find immense inner peace, health and fitness in a consistent yoga practice.  Gimena is an experienced yoga instructor registered with the Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 200). She has taught numerous workshops in the local yoga community and she is an active instructor in several yoga teacher training programs and yoga retreats. She teaches from a place of playfulness and sparkle while challenging her students to find their physical edge! Her classes are vigorous but accessible to all levels of experience. Gimena enjoys teaching various yoga styles including powerful vinyasa and sculpt classes as well as slower pace styles such as Hatha and Yin Yoga.

She used to do many different kinds of exercises and got injured regularly because she was very competitive and had no body awareness. She took a few months off and only did yoga. She signed up for her first power class and was addicted. She loves how physically challenging and restorative this practice is.  She did her 200hr Teacher Training with Shakti Vinyasa (Baron Baptiste Inspired Vinyasa yoga), recognized by the worldwide Yoga Alliance in 2014. She has since then added Restorative Yoga and Myofascial release classes to her practice and teaching.  Heidi focuses on healthy alignment of yoga poses in her classes. She likes to teach a challenging all levels class that will empower you and make you sweat while still listening to your body and being kind to yourself.

My favorite poses are any form of a heart opener; I love Dancer's pose, this challenging pose commands my attention while also making me feel graceful and beautiful. I completed my 200 hour Power Vinyasa training with CorePower Yoga in 2015 and completed my 50 hour Yin Yoga training with Bala Yoga in 2018. Outside of yoga I have a wonderful husband and a little dog named Pinot, she may only be ten pounds but packs a ton of personality! We love to hike, paddle board, ski and go wine tasting!

Laura Melkonian

I was blessed to have the opportunity to complete my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Global Soul Yoga and Piper Sandifer. I love all things yoga, but the 26 pose Hatha practice is my favorite. This practice truly is a moving mediation for me and it’s inspiring to help guide other yogis through the connection of the movements and the breaths.

I’m married and have three amazing children— Drew is 21 and attends UW, Ryan is 18 and attends WSU, and Molly is 14 and an 8th grader. We are originally from Michigan and have lived in Snoqualmie Ridge for 17 years. I am passionate about College football, (Go Spartans!), the Seahawks, the Sounders, and love to travel and explore new places. In my spare time, I’m a Supply Chain Director in Microsoft’s Cloud business.

Peace, Love, and Pineapples

Lexy Davis   I am hatha/ vinyasa certified from a beautiful studio in Bali, Indonesia called the Power of Now (also one of my favorite books titles by Echkart Tolle). I began my practice about 5 years ago in college and did my training a year a half ago. I fell in love with the philosophy of yoga and how the practice was for everyone. It became my therapy and healed me through some tough times. Now I am beyond grateful to be guiding classes and learning daily from my students! I love that there’s always space to grow and connect with my body/ mind and other beautiful humans. In my classes I hold a safe space to be your authentic self and explore your bodies and minds. I enjoy challenging students with hard flows that make them fully present. Then I always end with a lengthy meditation to let the practice soak in and usually give out a little massage too, because my love language is touch and who doesn’t love a mini massage! I often incorporate some essential oils to deepen the relaxation process. I have grown up in Washington since I was 3 years old, but I haven’t lived here in 6 years! So I am keen to be back in the most beautiful state in America ;) When I’m not teaching I also life coach, nanny and help with events! During my free time I am constantly adventuring, hiking, traveling, learning more about natural medicine or volunteering. I love people and it makes my heart so happy when I connect with you glowing souls on the mat or at the studio! Always feel welcomed to come chat to me!

Maria Granda   I did my 200hr teacher training in power vinyasa about 3 years ago with my mentor. I started teaching right away and have done so ever since. This is the style I love the most taking as a student. At the end of 2018 I added Yin Yoga to my cert and I absolutely love teaching it. I’ve done a few other workshops and trainings since I got my initial cert; The art of teaching beginners with Jason Crandell, Back bending with Kino MacGregor, Fluid Spine with Irene Pappas, and a few Wanderlust events. I’ll be doing an additional training in Bali this summer too. I love to practice balance poses and binds. Not sure I have just a few favorites but prolly Crow variations and Half moons are at the top of my list. I enjoy the level of focus and concentration they require :) I’ve also been a Spanish High school teacher for 10 years and last year I started also teaching yoga and meditation at my High School as a PE elective. I have a girl who is about to turn eight and I’ve lived in Snoqualmie for 12 years. My first language is Spanish and I’m raising my girl to be bilingual. I love rock climbing and paddleboarding! My little girl and I spend hours at the lake enjoying the view and the water any time of the year! :) I also enjoy traveling and have lived in 3 different continents so far. My teaching styles preferences: Yin, Power Vinyasa, Aerial, Meditation.

Maria Granda

I did my 200hr teacher training in power vinyasa about 3 years ago with my mentor. I started teaching right away and have done so ever since. This is the style I love the most taking as a student. At the end of 2018 I added Yin Yoga to my cert and I absolutely love teaching it. I’ve done a few other workshops and trainings since I got my initial cert; The art of teaching beginners with Jason Crandell, Back bending with Kino MacGregor, Fluid Spine with Irene Pappas, and a few Wanderlust events. I’ll be doing an additional training in Bali this summer too. I love to practice balance poses and binds. Not sure I have just a few favorites but prolly Crow variations and Half moons are at the top of my list. I enjoy the level of focus and concentration they require :) I’ve also been a Spanish High school teacher for 10 years and last year I started also teaching yoga and meditation at my High School as a PE elective. Michele Guillermo   After taking Barre classes for 3 years, I loved it so much that I decided to finally get my Barre Certification in February 2018. I enjoy teaching Barre, utilizing different types of tools from light weights, the mini ball, resistance bands, yoga blocks to slides! I love the full body workout you get from Barre and it’s all set to the beat of great music! I also enjoy taking Hot Yoga classes (taking Yoga Teacher Training soon!), running, HIIT and a variety of all types of exercises! I was born in Hawaii but moved to WA when I was young and have lived here all my life. I have a devoted, loving, handsome husband Glenn, who supports not only my dreams but my love of shopping and travel! We live in Seattle and have 3 beautiful daughters, Gisele, Gianele and Gabriele who are the light of our world. Michele Guillermo

After taking Barre classes for 3 years, I loved it so much that I decided to finally get my Barre Certification in February 2018. I enjoy teaching Barre, utilizing different types of tools from light weights, the mini ball, resistance bands, yoga blocks to slides! I love the full body workout you get from Barre and it’s all set to the beat of great music! I also enjoy taking Hot Yoga classes (taking Yoga Teacher Training soon!), running, HIIT and a variety of all types of exercises! I was born in Hawaii but moved to WA when I was young and have lived here all my life. I have a devoted, loving, handsome husband Glenn, who supports not only my dreams but my love of shopping and travel! We live in Seattle and have 3 beautiful daughters, Gisele, Gianele and Gabriele who are the light of our world. Renee Meena   I love to run, mountain bike, hike and ski! That’s why I love living in our beautiful Snoqualmie Valley so much! I came to find myself on a yoga mat to prevent injury, but soon realized yoga empowered me with a mental awareness and clarity that I had never experienced before. So after over 15 years of practicing yoga, I felt the need to bring this transformative practice to others, and I became a yoga teacher in 2011. I’m a 200 hour ERYT and am currently working on my 500 hour RYT. I have completed much advanced trainings though the seven years I’ve been teaching yoga, Shakti’s Vinyasa’s Teacher Mentorship Program and TAP level 1 & 2, forty hour ‘Yoga Sutra Intensive’ teaching certification with Rod Stryker, have studied Mindfulness at UCLA, Meditation with GOOGLE’s SIYLI and am certified as a Reiki Master. I’ve also traveled to train with some of my favorite teachers Dharma Mittra, Sarah Powers and Jon Kabat-Zinn who inspire me daily, on and off my mat. I truly believe yoga is a lifestyle, complete with transforming your body, mind and spirit. My classes are infused with fun, mindfully sequenced and filled with inspiration to help you come back to your inner power and beauty that is with in us all.

Full Body Myofascial Release with Heidi - Saturday, June 1st, 2-4pm

Fascia (spider web like connective tissues) play an important role in the support and function of our bodies, since it surrounds and attaches to all structures. In the normal healthy state the fascia is relaxed and has the ability to stretch and move without restriction.
Myofascial Release Therapy is a safe and effective technique that involves applying gentle pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue that covers the bones and organs.
In this workshop you will learn how to use blocks and tennis balls to work on these release techniques that help break down scar tissue rejuvenate and hydrate the fascia in your feet, hamstrings, inner thighs, glutes and medius. These techniques can be a great addition to your yoga practice. Bring a yoga mat, towel, and water. We will provide all other props.

Practice under neon and black lights illuminated by neon body paint and glow stick necklaces and bracelets! Expect a fun and uplifting vinyasa flow class in a slightly heated salt room. All levels and all fun!!!

Pineapple Crowns Summer Camp for Girls Week 1: July 8-12, 12-4pm; Week 2: July 15-19, 12-4pm

Pricing: 1 week - $350 OR both weeks for $600

This wonderful girls only camp embodies the core of our beliefs at Pineapple Life which include kindness, mindfulness, self care, healthy life style through exercise and balanced nutrition and the importance of treating others well. Each day will include an exercise class varying between yoga, barre and/or aerial. Guided meditation and mindfulness will be mixed in between meaningful crafts and fun outdoor activities. The main objective of the second annual Crowns Camp is to instill confidence and effective life skills that aren't always learned in other traditional educational settings. Ages 9-13. Limit 25 spots. Led by Brandi Cohen and Piper Sandifer.

Kids Happy Camp - August 12-16 - 12:00pm-3:00pm - (Ages 4-10)

Teaching our kids the foundation of a healthy, happy lifestyle each session will include either yoga in the park/studio, aerial, barre, or strengthening and conditioning exercises.  Appropriate for all levels and will be presented in a fun, supportive, non-competitive way.  A variety of crafts such as painting pineapples, making dream catchers, concocting pineapple scrubs will be incorporated. Guiding our kids to unplug, focus and be in the moment in creative fun ways will be the main theme of this week long adventurous camp! Boys and Girls ages 4-10. Limit 25 kids. Led by Brandi Cohen and Piper Sandifer.
